Firm Orientation

Studio

Presence Design was established in 2020 through the acquisition of Kenyon Architectural Group, bringing together a team with extensive experience spanning 15 states and 10 countries. With 45 years of project experience, our firm has successfully delivered a wide range of building types for private and public clients. We carefully select projects that align with our core values, focusing not only on providing financial benefits to our clients but also on making a positive impact on the communities and individuals they serve. Our unwavering commitment to social responsibility places the utmost importance on the welfare of our clients, our community, and the broader communities we engage with.

Density

Presence Design (PD) centers its work around communities and their

environments, recognizing that projects are most likely to succeed

economically when they prioritize the needs of the community. By focusing on understanding and addressing the specific requirements and preferences of the local population, PD ensures that their designs are not only aesthetically pleasing and functional but also resonate with the people who will ultimately interact with and benefit from the spaces created. This community-centric approach not only enhances the overall success of the projects but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride among community members, leading to more sustainable and impactful outcomes.

We carefully select projects by thoroughly assessing the social and environmental aspects, in addition to the typical economic considerations. By taking into account the broader context of the community and the environment, we ensure that our projects are not only financially viable but also socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. Furthermore, we actively engage with local agencies to align our long-term planning with their goals and strategies, fostering a collaborative and holistic approach to project development.

In our approach, we prioritize achieving high yields and density in our projects. This focus serves two key purposes: first, it helps combat urban sprawl by efficiently utilizing available space and resources. Secondly, our emphasis on high density is geared towards creating economically vibrant environments for both our clients and the communities they are a part of. By maximizing the use of space, we can enhance the economic potential of a given area, fostering opportunities for businesses, residents, and local stakeholders to thrive. This approach not only benefits our clients by maximizing the value of their investments but also contributes to the overall prosperity and well-being of the communities in which our projects are located.

Philosophy

Architecture is both analytical and intuitive, both a science and an art. We favor commissions with complex programs built around people, processes and ideas. Architectural character is generated in response to the special needs of both users and a distinctive site. Presence Design is dedicated to producing architecture that fulfills the client’s objective beyond their expectations while having a positive impact on its users, the community and the environment. Within each geographical context, our work is strongly focused on evolving architectural solutions that employ the most contemporary environmental strategies and techniques. An architectural solution must produce visual continuity over time and reflect a fundamental harmony with its context. In the search for a regional expression, we look for these qualities that transcend the individual building and reflect architecture’s place as an integrated part of the environment.

Our firm never dictates or limits the solution to a particular architectural style. We have no preconceptions about the final form or function of a project, maintaining our values as a design firm with exceptional focus on projects as individual solutions for specific needs. Our designs are an expression of the belief that architecture is an active participant in the user’s daily life. These projects seek to enhance new possibilities for programmatic relationships that are both innovative in their approach and positive in budgetary impact.
